Premiership Rugby launch two-year partnership with Virgin Atlantic

Premiership Rugby has announced the launch of a two-year partnership with Virgin Atlantic. For the next two years the iconic British Airline will work closely with Premiership Rugby’s players and fans to enable seamless travel across the UK and USA.

Both the Newcastle Falcons and Saracens will be the first to benefit from this new partnership as they jet off to the US next month (16 September) for the Aviva Premiership Rugby Match at the Talen Energy Stadium.

Head of Partnerships at Premiership Rugby, Paul Sherrell, said, “We share so many of the same values as Virgin Atlantic and we look forward to a great partnership with one of Britain’s biggest success stories.

The global reach of Aviva Premiership Rugby has been boosted over the years and a new broadcast deal with NBC Sports in America means that 30 young American players and coaches will earn Premiership Rugby Scholarships in 2018 where they will be visiting the UK, and the new partnership with Virgin Atlantic will be key in making this happen.”

Vice President of Sales at Virgin Atlantic, Emma Jones, said, “We are delighted to have an official partnership with Premiership Rugby for the next two years. This is a really exciting time for both brands, and with Aviva Premiership Rugby becoming a globally recognised programme; hence seeing an increase in their travel requirements between the UK and the US, we are proud to be their official airline partner.”

The new partnership will see both Virgin Atlantic and Premiership Rugby working closely together on a number of commercial opportunities throughout the Aviva Premiership Rugby season including the promotion of the 2018 and 2019 Premiership Rugby USA matches.
