Hull Kingston Rovers launch new beer, Kit Room Craft

Hull Kingston Rovers are delighted to announce the launch of their brand new beer, Kit Room Craft.

The craft beer, produced by East Yorkshire brewery Great Newsome has hit the shelves online at hullkr.co.uk/kitroom whilst the KCOM Craven Park Fan Experience Zone remains closed until further notice.

The supporters helped influence the taste and direction of the beer with a tasting session and vote before the London game during the Super 8s. With the beer proving popular and running out well before kick-off.

A striking brand has been created featuring famous and iconic Hull KR shirts from throughout the clubs history to honour the clubs rich heritage, whilst creating something that will stand out on the shelves in local retailers and bars.

In addition to being served on matchdays Kit Room Craft will be available in local bars, restaurants and retailers including Sewell On The Go across the City, Wharfedale Premier, Molescroft Wines in Beverley and Victoria Dock Tavern in time for Sunday’s RSG Christmas Party. More venues and retailers will be added soon so keep checking hullkr.co.uk for more details.

Hull KR’s Head of Marketing, Craig Franklin, commented: “We are so excited to finally reveal the official beer of the club. Big Listen feedback has told us fans would like to see a bigger selection of beers available on a matchday with an emphasis towards local and craft ales, and this ticks all the boxes.

“To have fans influence the final taste was really important too and we’re confident we’ve created something which will be popular.

“The really exciting part of this project for me is the opportunities this presents to get the brand of Hull Kingston Rovers out into local bars, pubs and retailers to potentially create a new 365-days-a-year revenue stream.

“We’ve created a new brand which is modern, fresh but obviously ‘Hull Kingston Rovers’ and is part of an on-going strategy to freshen up certain areas of the club ahead of an exciting new season.”

Matthew Hodgson, Director of Great Newsome Brewery, added: “Since the initial announcement in September we’ve been overwhelmed with interest from fans of the club, beer lovers, and local retailers.

The tasting session was a huge success and we even run out of samples. The fans were so keen to give us their feedback so we had a lot to consider and take back to the brewery and work on. It’s the first time we put one of our brews into a can but for the strong branding to work, it was important we overcame those logistical challenges to get this over the line.

We are confident this will be a massive success for everyone concerned and we can’t wait to hear the feedback.”
