Wasps have landed a major signing off the pitch that will see a locally-based global logistics company investing in the Black and Gold at Ricoh Arena.
The club has agreed a deal for GEFCO, a global provider of complex industrial supply chain services and European leader in finished vehicle logistics, to become Affiliate Partners of Wasps until the end of the 2019/20 season.
The partnership will give Coventry-headquartered GEFCO UK exposure on Ricoh Arena’s giant 188 sq metre LED screen and around the stadium on Wasps match days, as well as exclusive ticket offers for staff and access to hospitality packages.
Stuart Cain, Managing Director at Wasps and Ricoh Arena, said: “As a club we are striving to be the best off the pitch as well as on it, so we are really excited to be partnering with a multi-billion pound business such as GEFCO.
“They are major global players in their industry and have an array of customers across various sectors that they can now entertain at Wasps matches.
“Wasps matches at Ricoh Arena are fast-becoming a go-to place for networking, and we have a number of club partners and hospitality members that are reaping the rewards of hosting on match days.
“Around 350,000 rugby supporters come through Ricoh Arena’s turnstiles to watch Wasps every season alongside a diverse corporate community, making it the ideal place for businesses to advertise their brand and treat staff and clients.”
GEFCO’s UK operation, which is headquartered at Prologis Park in Coventry, employs 600 full time members of staff across 18 sites around the country, and has an annual turnover of £178m.
Zsolt Vecsera, Managing Director at GEFCO UK, said: “We are committed to providing innovative, bespoke services for our customers, and supporting employee well-being, encouraging team building and giving back to the community.
“Our new partnership with Wasps is a natural next step in fulfilling these commitments and providing memorable experiences for everyone associated with GEFCO UK, and is a clear sign of the exciting direction we are taking as a business.”
