Toronto Wolfpack have announced a new partnership with independent law firm Brabners. The sponsorship agreement starts with immediate effect and will see Brabners have a brand and advertising presence at the Wolfpack’s home ground, Lamport Stadium in Toronto, Canada. Brabners will also serve as UK legal services provider to the world’s first transatlantic professional sporting team.
Brabners is an independent law firm employing almost 400 colleagues across offices in Liverpool, Manchester and Preston. Its sports sector group, headed up by partner Lydia Edgar, works with some of the UK’s biggest sporting brands including Premier league football clubs, sporting governing bodies and high-profile athletes.
Lydia Edgar said: “As a business with long-standing roots in the North West, we’ve seen first-hand the passion The Wolfpack has for growing Rugby League as a sport. The franchise’s entrance into the top flight will provide a major boost for the sport’s global reputation and we’re looking forward to helping them realize those ambitions.”
“Our standing as a key legal adviser to the UK’s professional sporting community continues to grow, and partnering with our first Super League team – and the first-ever transatlantic sporting franchise – represents a landmark moment for Brabners.”
The Toronto Wolfpack are also a burgeoning organization that have grown steadily each year and both parties believe this agreement to be mutually beneficial and a significant step forward in their journeys.
Toronto Wolfpack UK General Manager Martin Vickers commented on the partnership:
“It is incredibly exciting for our Club to be partnering with a true leader in their field; we are delighted to have reached this agreement with Brabners LLP. As a transatlantic Club, we divide our time between the United Kingdom and North America, so this deal helps to streamline our operations. I am sure it will prove to be equally beneficial to both organisations moving forward.”
