The Harlequins Foundation has helped launch the Sport Value Bank. Sport VB is an online social value bank, designed to allow sporting organisations to assess and record the social impact of their work.

The tool will allow organisations across the sport sector to record a range of different data for specific projects such as inputs (e.g. staff costs) outputs (e.g. number of participants) and outcomes (e.g. number of participants recording an improvement in their self esteem).

Based on this information the tool will then calculate the social value of the project using the pre-estimated social values and provide a range of additional data to understand the source of that social value.

The new tool was launched in an event at the home of Harlequins, The Stoop, with major figures and organisations from across the sport sector in attendance, including UK Sport, Sport England, Premiership Rugby and the RFU.

Attendees had the chance to learn how the tool was developed, how it can help emphasize the impact of the work they do , and how the tool has already worked in action thanks to a case study from the pilot conducted by Everton in the Community.
