Glasgow Warriors will be able to promote the club and the sport of rugby to the 17 million visitors that come to intu Braehead every year, and intu Braehead will be able to reach out to the ever-increasing audience of rugby and sports fans.
The partnership will run until the end of the 2020/2021 season.
Speaking following the announcement David Lyon, Marketing Manager for intu Braehead, said: “With our shared values of entertainment, community engagement, innovation and excellence, this is an ideal match between our two organisations.
“Glasgow Warriors is the most successful rugby club in Scotland and intu Braehead has been given the accolade of being Scotland’s number one retail and leisure destination.
“Warriors players already come to intu Braehead and Soar with their family and friends to take advantage of our wide range of stores and to have fun at the fantastic leisure experiences we have.
“The new partnership cements the relationship between intu Braehead and Glasgow Warriors.
“People can unwind and relax, or get active as we have a host of leisure opportunities at Soar from a multiplex cinema, indoor ski slope, ten-pin bowling, trampoline, the UK’s tallest helter-skelter, to a climbing wall and aerial assault course. Plus of course, all our cafes, restaurants and bars.
“As well as watching the Glasgow Clan professional ice hockey team at the intu Braehead Arena, we’ve also got some world-class events coming to the venue, including Cirque Du Soleil and the Harlem Globetrotters.
“We own and manage the most popular destinations working with partners to create compelling experiences on and offline.”
Nathan Bombrys, Managing Director of Glasgow Warriors, added: “We’re really excited intu Braehead have decided to partner with Glasgow Warriors. They are one of Scotland’s leading retail and leisure destinations, and they pride themselves on delivering great experiences for the entire family, just like we do.
“You can’t win the Heineken Champions Cup or Guinness PRO14 without support, and we’re lucky to have some excellent support from the business community across Glasgow and the west of Scotland.
“We are looking forward to working with intu Braehead and look forward to experiencing the leisure opportunities on offer with our fellow Warriors supporters.”
