As part of a new look for Leicester Tigers – following the launch of 2020/21 team kits featuring new partners Topps Tiles and Samurai – keep an eye out for a fresh logo on some of the merchandise coming into the club shop soon.
A new ‘Tigers T’ logo will not replace the Tigers shield on playing shirts and training kit, but will appear on some lines of Tigers souvenirs, including caps and hats.
The bold, modern and striking ‘Tigers T’ has been developed by designer Gaz Nash at Welford Road and will make its debut soon on a new range of Samurai merchandise.
Chris Rose, head of brand at Tigers, said: “With the opportunity to take the retail business back in house and the launch of striking new playing shirts from Samurai, we are working on a number of creative ideas for the full range of merchandise and souvenirs for our supporters.
The launch of 2020/21 Leicester Tigers team kit is the first step in a new partnership with official supplier Samurai and the return in-house of the club’s retail operation.
Tigers and Samurai unveiled home and change playing kits for next season, both carrying the logo of incoming partner Topps Tiles, with supporters able to order online from Monday, July 27.
Tigers chief executive Andrea Pinchen said: “Quality and service were absolute priorities when we came to select our new teamwear partner and we believe we have found a long-term relationship with Samurai, and Terry and Keeley Sands, who are real rugby people based in the heart of Tigers Country in Norfolk.
“We have some exciting plans for the club shop now that we have brought the retail operation back in-house and Samurai will be playing a central part in the offer to supporters with more ranges to come in training wear, matchday wear and other merchandise.”
Shirts will be available in a range of junior, women’s and men’s sizes, with cotton shirts, training and leisurewear to come soon. Look out for more details.
Terry Sands, chief executive at Samurai, commented: “Tigers challenged us to propose a kit range with exceptional quality and design values worthy of a club of Leicester’s playing heritage and history. Our design team worked through many options and iterations with the club over several months, and we’re delighted with how the range has turned out.
“Samurai are honoured to have been chosen by Leicester Tigers for this partnership, and we look forward to serving the club professionals and supporters with our matchday, training and leisure kit in the coming season and, we hope, long into the future.”
