SRD Foundation raise £2,000 for Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust

Salford Red Devils Foundation have raised £2,000 during lockdown for Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust.

The money was raised through the SRD Foundation’s t-shirt sales of the “tee for hope” campaign, to support Salford Royal during the Covid-19 pandemic.

SRD Foundation director Neil Blackburn said: “We originally wanted to engage our fanbase by running a t-shirt design competition during lockdown and when we saw the design, we thought this was the perfect opportunity to show our support and appreciation for the NHS at this time.

“We want to work together with the NHS to show our support and hopefully make a difference in the local community, especially in times like these.”

The Club’s foundation, along with t-shirt designer Erin Ellaby and her family, presented Salford Royal with a cheque late last week.

Ellaby said: “It’s really important to me, because we’ve had a lot of family who have come here, and this money will go towards helping other people as well.”

Lisa Halden Fundraising Administrator at Salford Royal said: “It’s amazing to see the community coming together and donating.

“We will put the money towards a number of different projects! We’re looking into getting new equipment for some of the wards, meeting areas and family areas.

“It’s been a very challenging time in the NHS, but we have some true heroes at Salford Royal and it is nice that the community has wanted to give something back to them.”
