The London Broncos have announced that they to have agreed a short deal to play our 2021 Home fixtures at Trailfinders Sports Club in Ealing once crowds are permitted to return.
Having left the Vallis Way complex at the end of 2020 with ambitions to meet Super League stadium criteria the Broncos will hopefully return to the ground in May for our game against the Bradford Bulls, in line with Government guidance on crowds, and until we are able to make the move to Plough Lane subject to an AFC Wimbledon fans vote returning in our favour and the required test events at the stadium.
This means a return to the pitch which saw so many memorable games in Super League and the promotion winning season and Club CEO Jason Loubser was pleased to be able to secure a return to Ealing for what could be a difficult period for managing crowds and guidelines.
He said “Once we received the news that our proposed move to Plough Lane would only be possible following a couple of key processes, I spoke with Shaun at Trailfinders Sports Club about the possibility of returning to Vallis Way to play our games in the Betfred Championship. Trailfinders have always been great to work with and the whole team were very keen to do everything they could to make it possible which was brilliant for us.”
Shaun Justice of Trailfinders Sports Club added “Our relationship with the London Broncos has always been strong and we are delighted to work with them on a short term basis in these turbulent times. We have had some fantastic London Broncos occasions at Trailfinders Sports Club and we hope for more this season. I’m sure the local community and supporters are excited about leaving home, seeing friends and watching top class live championship rugby union and league at TFSC in the coming months. A unique offering.”
