One of the county’s most famous brands, Pukka will be joining the Leicester Tigers family as the club’s official pie supplier.
Born in the heart of Leicestershire, Pukka has continued making and baking pies in Leicestershire for 58 years and proudly remains an independent family company.
Pukka’s bakery is based in Syston, a stone’s throw from the kitchen where husband and wife team Trevor and Valerie Storer baked their first Pukka Pie.
The independent family company will also be supporting the development of the club’s SWIFT’s programme which creates opportunities for under-represented youngsters in Leicester and Leicestershire to take part in rugby.
Mark Davies, head of business of development of Leicester Tigers, said: “It’s fantastic to be working with yet another local business and one of the biggest brands across the UK.
“A family business with long-serving traditions, we’re sure that supporters will be excited to be able to purchase Pukka’s range of pies on matchdays here at Mattioli Woods Welford Road.
“The company’s local roots will also help to support the grassroots game and we’re enthusiastic to see where their journey with our SWIFTS programme will take us.”
Pukka’s General Manager, Isaac Fisher, commented: “Much like Leicester Tigers, Pukka’s Leicestershire roots, community and family values are at the heart of our story, and we are proud to join the Tigers family.
“We’re looking forward to cheering the Tigers on throughout the season and supporting the club in its future growth.”
